We believe that God made us for one another and that the Christian life is meant to be lived out in community. One of the ways we pursue this is through Life Groups, which function as a smaller expression of the church. Each group has a unique identity but the principle is simple: gather, read, study, pray, serve, worship and challenge one another to live and lead like Jesus together. Every 2nd & 4th Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 pm

Led by Mark & Carmen Cleaveland

Mark & Carmen founded The River back in 2006 with several friends. They are the parents to four adult children and three grandchildren! While Mark leads the staff of The River, Carmen is a Fifth Grade teacher at Maplewood Elementary School. They love being outdoors and playing with their dogs, Molly & Josie. Mark & Carmen believe in living authentic lives without pretense.

Daniel & Holly have been attending The River since 2014. They are the parents to 4 children. Daniel is a construction/handyman work and Holly works in as a Dental Assistant. They both have a heart to serve others and enjoy time with friends.

Led by Mike & Debbie Ross

They moved from Texas to Fort Wayne, IN 18 years ago. Recently became “empty nesters” as our three children are off enjoying life on their own. Our son, Aaron and his wife Jessica have been married five years. Our daughter, Taylor and her fiancé Chase are engaged to be married in June 2024. Our youngest son, Shaun is in his first semester of college at Huntington University. We’ve been married for thirty-seven years! Mike is the Vice President of Marketing Services at Sweetwater and Debbie is a CPA and the Tax Accounting Manager at Shambaugh & Son, LP.  Mike enjoys playing guitar, writing music and photography. Debbie enjoys her garden, crafting and spending the weekend at the lake cottage with Mike and their dog, Maisie. We’ve been at The River Church for over two years and on many Sundays either Mike or Aaron are playing on the Worship team. Debbie enjoys serving and leading Rooted Groups as a couple with Mike.

Senior Group - Meeting every third Thursday 

Led by Dave & Debi Moore

Dave & Debi have been married for over 51 years! We have 3 adult kids plus spouses and 5 grandchildren. We enjoy going on walks with our dog Lincoln, and we love to travel. It's nice to have a support group where seniors feel they can be themselves and connect with the Lord.
