1. How long have you been a part of The River?

We started attending August 2013 and came on as part-time staff in June of 2019.

2. Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Garrett, just north of Fort Wayne. We moved to Fort Wayne in August 2013 after retiring from ministry at the Pleasant View Church in Angola, IN.

3. What does your position entail?

My title is “Care Pastor” so I seek to do Pastoral Care for those of The River family of believers re: Hospital calls (a real challenge since Covid), visiting those in need, keeping contact and prayer. I also volunteer with LifeVenture Group, the mission ministry of our son, Scott.

4. What do you love most about The River?

The family of believers and our wonderful staff who focus on honoring the Lord and following the Scriptures.

5. What do you like to do during your free time?

Being with our family. I also enjoy watching sports on TV and try to walk at least a half hour each day.

6. What is something people would be surprised to learn about you?

I preached the Word of God full time for 53 years, in 4 states and when we were on a missionary basis in Canada for 12 of those years. I still “fill in” on occasion, preaching in area churches.

7. What is your favorite scripture?

Now wherever we go he uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Good News like a sweet perfume. Our lives are a fragrance presented by Christ to God…
